sympathy failure
ahh... people generally dont feel bad for people who are hurt if they're hurt badly enough
at some point it becomes Right...
(and if my scale is for Normal harms (it's uh, well..) then that's where my hope for understanding comes from.... but it's PERSISTENT AND DESPERATE because i know it won't be satisfied...)
(why else develop an obsession with being understood unless i'm usually not)
my hopes regarding the ability of sympathy or empathy or whatever in general is misplaced..
do people care more about righteous violence or helping each other...
