what helps ease the hunger for love (and buried possessiveness) in my bones is knowing i already have so much
when i want him i just remember: i have him

I think patience is the wrong idea here.
Patience is temporarily biding time until whatever you want happens.
But what I want is for him to be well (more than any superficial indicators of care).
So I'm not being patient.
